Knuckleheads Clothing

I came across this children's clothing site the other day and fell madly in love. Although I don't have any kids I think this stuff is fabulous, especially the boys line.

If you have small children, do me a favor and buy their stuff - since obviously I don't have any kids to buy for.

loving...

These stylish plastic tumblers from Target. Although it's snowing outside I can just see myself lounging in the sun, sipping a chilled lemonade.

Do you want these in a bag?

Over the weekend Jon and I went to Target. I needed to pick up a few things and Jon wasn't planning on me dragging him along. He had mentioned he was craving a twix so I jokingly told him if he was good I would buy him one at the store.

The Target we went to wasn't the usual Target we shop at so we wandering around a little because the setup of the store was different. Also, I was getting a gift and wasn't quite sure what it was that I wanted. When with Jon, no trip to the Target or any other store that sells toys is complete without a trip to the toy car aisle. Jon like to collect hotwheel type vintage cars.

Since I am good girlfriend I feed this collection by finding cars worth purchasing. Which is what happened that night. I found a 19451 Ford, which is one year off from the car that Jon is currently restoring. Keeping with my early joke of Jon being good at the store I told him I would buy it for him. He found another car he liked too and put it in the basket.

As we were checking out the cashier rings up both of the cars and then looks at Jon and asks him if he would like his cars in a bag or not. Both of totally caught off guard, and Jon a little embarrassed he answers yes. I giggle a little and the lady puts them in a bag and hands the bag to Jon. She then tells us she has a husband who collects cars too and she knows how it goes.

I am sure it would have been much more funny if you had been there, but I thought it was funny enough to share with all of you.

ps. I am not happy about this snow.

Modern Materials Design

During my daily browsing of the Craigslist ads, I came across an ad for a local store called Modern Materials Design. According to them they are moving due to rezoning and are having tons of sales to clear out their warehouse inventory. They can be visited at their warehouse or online.

Just from looking at their website a couple of their specials are buy 2 doormats and get them for $18.95 each. Don't think to yourself that you don't need two doormats. You have a front and back door, right?

Another sale is for accent pillows. Buy 2 get them for $14.95-$22.95 a piece. Some of their pillows are on sale for $12.50 and up.

They also have lamps, kitchen textiles and all sorts of other things you may not need, but could definitely rationalize buying because it's on sale.

Check them out!

And for those of you who aren't local they do have shipping through their website.

Busy Busy Busy

As you can probably tell I didn't get my post up this weekend about my birthday adventure. It will have to wait. I got bombarded with projects that need to be done *now*. Unfortunately, things don't always work out how you plan, and because of this I have a couple of really busy days ahead.

However, don't let me spoil all of your fun!

Layers clothing is having a sale for today only, where all of their clearance items are $5 or $10. For that price you can afford to pick up a few things for yourself!

little lovelies

My new blog friend Erica has just opened an Etsy shop and it's doing amazing!

Her shop is little lovelies, and she is currently selling the cutest vintage flower cabochon earrings. She will also be adding delicate hair pins. Since I am little slow on getting the word out on this, most of her stuff has sold on opening day. However, you should 'heart' her as one of your favorite sellers and check back for new items. She will be updating her inventory every other weekend.

Erica also has an awesome blog, which is originally how I became acquainted with her.

loving...

I am going to try a new thing and post something every couple of weeks or so that I am spying and 'loving' at the time. The first item is this Bird Bath Dish from Urban Outfitters.

What are things that you guys are ooh'ing and ahh'ing over right now? Everyone has been so quiet in their comments lately, it's time to speak up!

ps. I'll be posting about last weekend's roadtrip this weekend.

Doormats

I am in need of a little spring, so I thought I would start by getting a new doormat. I found lots of great doormats on line. Here are a few of my favorites:

Cafe Cartolina

I recently came across the blog Cafe Cartolina, and I am in love with what she posts about. All of the design inspirations and such. It's like we are two peas in a pod. Well in my mind anyway.

Today she blogged about "Decorating with found objects | For the love of junk." Everything in the pictures is so eclectic! Jon and I were actually having a conversation the other day about furniture and what styles we liked. Ultimately we decided that a room shouldn't have to fit into a certain type of style, but be filled with pieces that have personality and speak to you. That completely describes how I decorate and why I am in love with the for the love of junk post. I just wish that my house could look as awesome as some of these places.

I have a confession..

I love listening to the 90's channel on xm. It's a guilty pleasure of mine. There is just something about the songs that make me giggle and put me in a good mood. Sometimes, I can't believe that these songs were actually chart toppers.
