Several people have mentioned to me when I discuss my dislike for this left over hole on my face that they did not even notice it until I said something. This is understandable, but every time I see myself or get my picture taken it screams out to me.
After a recent visit to the dermatologist I inquired about how much it would cost to have this fixed. He informed me it wouldn't be a problem and I promptly scheduled the appointment. Scheduling the appointment was the easy part. It's my fear of any surgical procedure that then became my downfall.
I showed up at the Dr.'s office and they proceeded to inject my bottom lip with saline and a numbing agent. For warning - my fear and the puffed up lip/face make me look uber happy in all of these pictures.

After the injections I was left in the room for what felt like 30 minutes for the numbing to take effect. With time to kill I decided to take another picture since it felt like I had grown an elephant on my face. (I am not making a pouty face - my lip is just really swollen)

The procedure didn't take long at all and the doctor seemed pleased with his work, which is always a plus since it's you that will be living with it the rest of your life. They bandaged me up and sent me on my way. I think they could have used a smaller bandage, but that's just me.

I was finally able to remove the bandage last night and here is what my adventure looks like this morning.

Now I just have to wait and see how it all turns out and hope the swelling doesn't last long. I get my stitches out on Thursday. woo hoo!

I'm sure you really appreciated that incospicuous bandage. Really, how thoughtful of them to send you out with something that doesn't scream, "I've had work done!"
