A wrinkle in time

As some may know another one of my favorite places on the internet is the Utah Historical Site. I could and have spent countless hours searching through their photo databases looking at pictures of our city through out the decades.

For as long as I can remember I have thought it would be cool to buy the Murray Theater, restore it to it's original flare and show old movies. Over the past couple of years the building has been vacant but saying that the "super theater" is coming. To my sadness that day has come and the murray theater has been turned into a dance club.

I guess I will just have to hold on to my memories of the summer dollar movies that included popcorn, drink and a treat at a theater that was a wrinkle in time.

Toe tapping beats

I couldn't help but fall in love with the idea of music playing while reading someone else's blog (Kim's). So.. when she posted the link. I stole the idea. :)

Granted my playlist is a work in progress, but I hope it will be enjoyed.

Headbands

My cousin Kim and I were talking about making headbands the other day and one of the newer trends we have seen about make them out of thigh high nylons or childrens tights.

However, I recalled that I had read a blog about another way to make headbands. I did a little searching and I found that blog. Which shows an ingenious way of using a hairband to provide a little stretch. That blog can be found here, on Your Heart Out. If you love to support the local SLC businesses - you should definitely check this blog out.

Paper, ribbon & tape

For Christmas I gave several members of my family 12x12 tiles with a quote on them. When wrapping them I wanted each person to feel like they were getting something really special so I hand wrapped each tile differently. I loved how each of them turned out.

Gears 'n stuff

I recently took these pictures of what I believe was an old printing press. They are just random pictures of the gears and other mechanisms that I thought were unique.

Grab a shovel

We had a huge snow storm a week or so ago and I managed to get stuck in my car. I didn't get stuck in the snow, but rather got stuck up in the Millcreek area and soon found that the roads were too slick to drive down the hills. Luckily, Jon and I were going over to his Grandpa's house where Jon's car was at so we were able to take his car. I had to leave my car overnight and this is what we found the next day when we went to retrieve my car.

Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus

Haha if only that were true. I would not be worrying about how I am going to find the time to pick up those last few Christmas gifts I still need. I am jealous of all of you that have been able to complete your shopping before now.

As I always seem to be saying lately - this is the story of my life. :)
