In Search of...
Beignets. These are a french donut, commonly seen in Louisiana and absolutely delicious. There used to be a place in Sandy called Crescent City that made them. But this place has gone out of business and I am not aware of anywhere else that makes beignets. I have had a mad craving for these little lovelies rolled in cinnamon and sugar. If anyone knows where I can get some please let me know.

Cuppycakes
I was sweet enough to get this song stuck in Jon's head this morning, so I thought I would do the same for the rest of you.

Marie Osmond
Jon and I are currently standing outside Takashi sushi, downtown, waiting for our name to be called and all of the sudden Marie Osmond and what I imagine are her kids walk by and take a seat on the stairs to the restuarant. I would take a picture but it would be too obvious. Obviously I am not current with my celeb news I thought she was in cali dancing with the stars.
**UPDATE**
I just wanted to point out that I originally posted this blog from my cellphone. Yes, cellphone. Isn't technology great!

What’s in this stuff?
Last night as Jon and I were driving home from his Grandpa’s house in the Millcreek area, we encountered the largest speed bumps ever. They could have easily been referred to as speed hills based upon their size. Right as we were able to drive over each of them Jon would say “Speed bump! Break it down! And then hum the tune to MC Hammer’s Can’t Touch This”.
I couldn’t help but wonder what he ate at dinner that I didn’t.

Krappy Cheese

Ode to the Kraft Single...
Oh Kraft single how I love your convenience of being pre-sliced and packaged.
You are absolutely delightful on my fried egg sandwich!
I am not quite sure what you are made of.
Although the package shows a glass of milk and says that you are indeed cheese.
I have other cheeses in my refrigerator
but your color and texture don't come close when compared.
However, I am still a fan!
Spring Vinyl Special
I was asked the other day if I could make another board like the one I made for Lissa and Travis. I decided that I would run a Spring special and offer everyone the chance to get a board if they wanted for the low price of $15.00. $15.00 is the price for a completed board - all put together!
I have several different colors of vinyl as well as paints. So, most likely I can do whatever your vision is.
Email me at SIOdesigns@gmail.com or call me if you have my number.

The board in the picture is aprox. 23"x6".
Check out the Spell It Out blog for more vinyl projects and specials I will be posting in the future.

Toasty Goodness
This weekend Jon and I happened to find ourselves up in Park City, and being there I requested to go to the kitchen store in the outlet mall. I started with only having the thought of getting another plastic spatula. This being because I have recently found that the one I own is almost always dirty whenever I need it.
But once in the store all havoc broke loose. Me in a kitchen store - good thing my bank account only held limited funds.
For quite some time my kitchen has been the home to lovely broken toaster.
Granted it still toasts very nicely, but the lever has to be held down with one of those sweet, industrial orange and black clamps. Also, you must always be aware of whatever is in the toaster so it doesn't get burnt. Oh, how I have burnt many an english muffin.
It was just my luck, they had a double toaster on sale for the lovely price of $29.99. This is much less than was spent on the now broken toaster, and the new one does double the toasting at the same time!
While there Jon also found and pointed out to me a scone pan.
I did manage to muster up enough strength to not fall victim to the temptation of purchasing this pan. Although, if you are ever looking to buy me a gift I would love to have one of these!
Although the visit to the kitchen store started just for a new spatula, I have to be proud of myself since I didn't leave with the whole store in tow. Just a new spatula, toaster, and a pie crust ring that prevents your pie crusts from getting burnt in the oven.

Snow
Mother Nature what are you doing to me? I was enjoying the warm weather and you bring rain and snow!
Seriously, I walked out of my house this morning and it was warm. Warm enough that I didn't grab a coat. However, as I have sat at my desk at work watching the rain/sleet/snow fall I am greatly regretting I didn't grab a coat. I am glad that I chose to wear flats instead of heels though, so at least I can run to the car to try and escape the cold.

Congratulations
Early congratulations to Lissa and Travis who are getting married tomorrow! May it be a joyous and wonderful occasion!
Take me out to the ballgame!
Yes folks it's that time of the year - Baseball season. Although I don't always catch each game I try to faithfully follow the Yankees throughout the season. Tonight is their first game and it's against the Boston Red Sox. Jon and I usually have a small rivalry going on anytime the Yankees play the Red Sox. Jon is a Red Sox fan.
Every year I always say that I want to go to NY and watch a game at Yankee stadium. But life happens and time slips away and I never end up going. However, I *really* want to go this year not only because I still want to see a game, but because they are tearing down Yankee stadium to build a new one. I want to at least have the memory of having gone to the old stadium.
I guess I will have to get my butt in gear and get this trip planned.
